dad's birthday

tonight when dad was opening his presents, he opened up this little crystal prism. he goes, "wow! i love prisms! braden, don't you think prisms are cool?"

braden: "yeah!" the way he said it was hilarious. it was like he was trying to say, sure whatever you say dad, but sincerely, and it came out really sarcastic. dad, mom, and i were laughing so hard. the face he made just added to it!

next dad opens up an aggot. (some kind of rock.) braden grabs it from dad, and dad says "braden, what are you doing?!?" "im trying to peel off the $12.50 sign!" we all start cracking up. then he says "what?" dad explains, "braden, when you tear off the price tag, the whole point is so the person doesn't know how much it costed them. you just told me, so peeling off the sticker was pointless!" then braden says, "oooooooooh!", seeing his mistake and laughing a little nervously, and then he changed the subject.

bluebonnet cafe

at the lake trip, we went to the bluebonnet cafe. me and braden rode with kenny and megan, while everyone else was in the other car. when we pulled up, everyone was like, aw im so hungry! and braden shouts, "hey, i just came for the home made rolls!" later we noticed a sign on the building that said "fresh home made rolls everyday!"

What are you feeding us Mom?

So tonight we are having pork roast. Mom was trying out a new recipe and Braden saw it on the counter. The name of the recipe is Pork Butt Roast. Mom used a shoulder, don't worry. Anyways, Braden picks it up and yells pretty much through the house, "Mom, you're feeding us PORK BUTT?!?!?!?!?!?"

scout camp

Last night Dad and Braden got home from scout camp. when they were describing the thunderstorm of thursday night, dad said, i think the only thunderstorm i have been in that was louder than this was at philmont! and braden said, yeah, it was like a thousand mini-gongs getting banged at the same time! we were all trying so hard not to laugh, because he was dead serious.
